2nd XI WIN JUNIOR CUP
Armagh Ladies 2nd XI put on a fine performance at Play Ball to win the Junior Cup against an expereinced Mossley 3rd XI.
The Orchard ladies had to navigate a very experienced Mossley team that looked extremely up for the game. However, the speed and quickness of passing from Armagh really made it very difficult for Mossley to get into the game. Both keepers were called into action early on but it was Armagh who broke the deadlock.
Another from Armagh saw the final all but wrapped up. A few late attacks from Mossley but nothing threatening for the Orchard girls. What was a tensely anticiapted game actually turned out a comprhensive and comfortable victory.
Armagh Coach Jonny Ross said, “I am honestly over the moon for the team, they totally deserve the Cup. This is a great bunch of girls, who work so hard and always do it with a smile on their face. The talent is very evident with this group. We were nervous coming into the final, but I must say the girls didn’t show it and very quickly dominated the game and it could have been an every more convingin win. I am just delighted to go back back down the motorway with the Cup and a clean sheet also!”
